The spray tanning process involves one of our certified consultants helping you choose from one of our many tanning blends. This solution will help you achieve the shade desired for your skin type. Our female technician will then escort you to one of our private rooms where she will spray the solution through an aerosol gun onto your skin, resulting in an even, bronzed tan. You will look fabulous without subjecting yourself to the radiation of a traditional tanning bed or of the sun!

The active ingredient is DHA, which is approved by the FDA specifically for sunless tanning. DHA harmlessly colors the outermost layer of the skin.

Our solution is water-based, oil-free, alcohol-free, and fragrance-free. Thus it dries within seconds, never feels sticky, fades evenly, is non-allergenic, and does not stain clothes or sheets.

Please be careful to shave, shower, or exfoliate at least 3 hours before coming in. We do not want anything blocking the tanning solution from reaching your skin, so your skin must be free of any lotions, depilatories, and oil-based exfoliants. Any makeup, deodorant or perfume may also inhibit or react with the tanning solution. We do not want to discolor your finger and toenails, so if you are unable to apply a clear nail polish prior to your appointment we will provide you with a barrier cream. Lastly, the solution normally washes out of fabrics but we do recommend wearing something loose fitting and made of cotton.

It takes 8 - 12 hours for the tan to develop its full effect, so avoid showering or perspiration during this period.

A typical tan lasts 5 - 7 days and gradually fades as the outermost layer of skin naturally sheds. The tan may be extended by a few days by exfoliating before tanning and applying moisturizer daily afterward. The exfoliant cleans the skin and promotes better adherence of the tanning solution. Moisturizer slows down the shedding process. These skin care products are available from Althea, or you may use your own.
